I was so saddened to hear about your mom. Your mom always brought smiles and fun times to whatever she was doing. The last time we were together was cutting Lizzy Faulkner's wedding cake with Kristen Agar for the guests. Please know that my prayers have been with you.

We are so sad to lose Ms. Avis - she was my son's teacher this year at Rockefeller, and we were so lucky to have her. She always had thoughtful things to say to her students and their parents, and was such a gentle and effective educator. She will be greatly missed by her Rockefeller students, and by one little boy in particular. Please know, our hearts are with her family during this time of loss and grieving.

Dear Jay & Meredith,
I was shocked to hear about your Mom. I worked with your Dad many years ago and had the great pleasure of kowing your Mom when I babysat you Jay on many occassions. Your Mom was such a happy person and could always bring a smile.
So sad she was taken so young.

One of my fondest memories of Avis was her two-week visit to our home in Colorado while she was in high school. At the time, she was learning to drive, and Uncle Teaford volunteered to teach her in his old, green Volkswagen Beetle (stick shift of course!) Well, Avis got a lot of help from her two cousins, Judy and Robin, and the hours they spent laughing and joking about Avis's attempts to drive kept us all in stitches. Avis's sense of humor was infectious and those days have stayed with me forever. I am so sorry I could not be with your family at this sad time, but I will dearly miss Avis. Love to all of you, Aunt Tommie

Jay and Meredith,
What a great picture of your Mother! She was a very dear friend I taught with for several years and I loved her. She always had wonderful advice on being a mother and was so proud of both of you! In fact, the last text I received from her said, 'God is good to give me my wonderful children. My efforts weren't all done in vain! XO' Please know that I'm praying for you both.
