Dee and I taught together many years ago at Brady Elementary School in the late 1970's. She was always there to brighten the spirits of her students and everyone else she came in contact with. She was an excellent, vivacious and one-of-a-kind teacher. I will never forget her lovely smile and the laughter we shared. My deepest sympathy to her family and friends.

Dee was an awesome person and teacher. She could find the "specialness" in each child and then help them to celebrate that uniqueness. She was one of the most positive people I have had the privilege of knowing. Dee was truly one of a kind and she will be missed deeply!

Every time I saw Dee, she had a smile on her face. She was the sweetest person and touched the hearts of both of my boys. She taught them at Ms. Selmas many years ago. Both of them are heart broken and will miss her terribly.

"Miss Dee", as my son called her at Miss Selma's many, many years ago, was a wonderful teacher and friend. She knew how to make a kid's first days in school not so scary, and I will never forget how much time and effort she put into making every kid feel safe and special. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

I have so many wonderful memories of Dee. She was one of my daughters (Susan Toland Cookus) best friend. When they were in high school Dee spent many days, nights, hours at our house. The kids liked to hang out at our house and I loved them all. The fun we had with Dee, Betsy and Susan. Dee has always been special to me and I have so many stories I could tell of her (fun ones). I love Dee and she will be missed by many. The family is in my prayers.

Dee was a friend we can all count. My volunteer time at Holy Souls was mainly spent running copies of the kindergarten work books. I'll forever hear her sweet voice introducing me to her students "children this is Mams ,she is Ethan's grandmother". I will always remember her with love.
