Biography: William Raymond Baum, age 67, of Little Rock passed away peacefully on February 16, 2013 at Hospice Home Care in Little Rock surrounded by his family and friends.He was born on August 23, 1945 in Lakewood, Ohio to the late Raymond and Dorothy Louise (Hood) Baum. Bill graduated from Lakewood High School in 1963. The family then moved to Osceola, Arkansas. He graduated from Ouachita Baptist University with a B.A. in Accounting in 1970. Bill became a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Fraud Examiner. He began his career as an auditor with the Division of Legislative Audit for the State of Arkansas in 1971. He was promoted to Deputy Legislative Auditor in 1992 and retired in 2007. Bill enjoyed the Retiree?s Breakfast Club every Tuesday morning; however his true passion was spending time with his grandchildren and his beloved dog ?Izzy?. He is survived by his brother, Richard Baum of Bellingham, Washington; his daughter, Barbi Venable (Terry) of Conway; his son, Heath Nicholson of Houston, TX; three grandchildren; close friends, Vicki Chastain and Kristy Evans, and numerous nieces and cousins. As Bill?s cousin Steve wrote, ?God Bless my cousin Bill, May he Rest in Peace?. And I gotta add if there is a North Heaven and a South Heaven, we know where Bill is. A true Southern Gentleman from Lakewood?. A Celebration of Bill?s Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Home Care in Little Rock. I always enjoyed seeing Bill at my dental office. He was a patient of my dad in Osceola and was handed to me when Bill moved to Little Rock, as was his mother.
We had good times talking about Osceola.
