Biography: Ella Mae Newsom, age 94, of Little Rock went to be with her Lord Saturday, February 16, 2013. She was born October 17, 1918 in Earle, AR to the late Hobart James Bibb and Ethel M. Goade Bibb. She was preceded in death by her husband, Preston Wiley Newsom and her brother, James Hobart Bibb. Ella Mae was very active in the Eastern Star, having been a member of three chapters and serving as Past Worthy Matron. She was a member of The Sewing Club and Immanuel Baptist Church. She retired from ISO having worked there over forty years. She loved her church and family, with her grandchildren being the light of her life. She is survived by her son, Bart Preston Newsom of Little Rock; her daughter, Nancy Kay Wade and husband, Jimmy of Cabot, AR; grandchildren, Meleah Wade of Cabot, AR, Mark Wade and wife, Leigh of Vilonia, AR, and Mechelle Wade of Little Rock and great-grandchildren, Sarah Nicole Wade, Tyler James Brown and Channing Luke Wade. Ella Mae?s family would like to thank the staff at Woodland Hills Nursing Home for all the care and devotion they gave her during her stay there, especially Nicole Bonecutter. Visitation will be held at Ruebel Funeral Home, 6313 W. Markham St., Little Rock on Wednesday, February 20, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. officiated by Dr. Charles Barfield. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church, 501 N. Shackleford Road, Little Rock, AR 72211. Bart and Nancy,
Seeing your mom's picture puts a smile on my face. Our moms sure enjoyed fun times at the Sewing Club as well as church. (My parents were Mary Allie and Frank Haley)
