Biography: Russell Disston Rawn, age 92, passed from this life to the next on January 24, 2013 in Little Rock AR. Born on Nov. 20, 1920 in Philadelphia, PA, the son of Joseph and Snefrid Gudbrandsen Raaen. Russ is survived by his wife of 68 years, Betty Ann Peterson Rawn. He worked as a CPA and CFO of Transportation Properties, Inc. and International Ventures, Inc. He volunteered his time and talents with organizations for which he cared: The Episcopal Diocese of Arkansas as Treasurer, Easter Seals of Arkansas as a member of the Board of Trustees, founder of Lion World Services for the Blind, National Association of Accountants, and for many years he was involved with the Arkansas Society of CPAs. Russ and Betty Ann were founding members of St. Michaels Episcopal Church in Little Rock. Russ served in the Army Air Corps as a Navigator Trainer during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He is also survived by four sons and their wives, Doug and Lynda Daily Rawn of Little Rock, and Robert and Debbie Wools Rawn of Maumelle, Greg and Barbara Hinson Rawn of DeValls Bluff, and the Rev. Jeff and Cinde Matkin Rawn of Plano, TX. Russ and Betty Anne boast eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Russ was a member of Saint Andrew?s Anglican Church in Little Rock. It was recently said that Russ lived a good, long life and served the Lord quietly. He never talked a lot about his faith, choosing rather to demonstrate it with his life, which he did. A Memorial Service will be held at St Andrew?s Anglican Church, 8300 Kanis Rd., Little Rock, AR 72204 at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 26. Private interment will be at St Michael?s Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Easter Seal?s Arkansas, Alzheimer?s Arkansas or Lion World Services for the Blind. Arrangements by Ruebel Funeral Home, www.ruebelfuneralhome.com.

Doug, I'm so sorry, but what a wonderful dad, whose life you can now celebrate. I remember so much, and it's all good. Russ and Betty Ann were the first people to welcome me to St. Michael's and then into their home, and I will always remember him as one of the best men I have ever known. My prayers are with you, Betty Ann, and all of your family.

Sydney and Annalea also send their love.

Bobby, Greg, and family - I had the pleasure of working with Russ for many years at Ventures. He was certainly a stickler about the numbers, but always a sweetheart. He was a man of such integrity and character, and I enjoyed knowing him.
