I had Mrs. Brown for Geometry and Calc BC. She was one of the most brilliant teachers I had throughout my schooling. She was always the best at explaining even the hardest concepts so that it was completely easy to understand. A remarkable and admirable talent. She has impacted my life in many ways. I will never forget her. I love you, Mrs. Brown!

I remember when I first met Karyn and my thinking she was so personable and outgoing and so easy to talk with and my telling you and her I couldn't figure out how she was going to put up with you for a lifetime. I remember too when you and I discussed me being one of few who remembered the spelling of her name. You and Kaleigh are in my prayers. Please know I would love to help you in some way and hope that you will call on me if there is anything I can do.

Even though I had not seen her in almost 20 years, I would think of her often. She was my favorite teacher at Central High School in West Helena. She is one of the reasons that I became a high school teacher. My husband and I even attended her wedding in 1993. I am deeply saddened to hear of her death. She was such a funny and caring person. She will certainly be missed. Prayers for the family.

I was taken aback when I heard about this loss. Ms. Brown, at that time, Ms. Infield was my favorite teacher. We would talk like robots in her class and just do our best to aggravate her. Sometimes it worked. Most of the time it didn't. We were in the 11th grade and full of mischief. She did not let that stop her from teaching us. Physicists, Veterinarians, Accountants, Educators, and more came through that class. I think I can speak for that 6th period Algebra class at Central High School in West Helena during the year of 87-88 and everyone who had her as a teacher that we send our deepest sympathies and her entire family is in our thoughts and prayers. She can praise God for all of eternity.

Karyn,
The charter class of ASMS will always remember you as a caring mathematics teacher. We touched base several times throughout the years at various math conferences but in the fall of 2011 we reconnected as both you and my husband began traveling your cancer journeys. Our thoughts and prayers have been with you and your family the past year. I'm sure that you will find a classroom in heaven in which to teach mathematics. May God bless.

Karyn was always full of life. She really enjoyed people. She was our daughter's Pre-Cal teacher when we first met her a few years ago. My 82 year old father met her at the same place they were taking Chemo and they hit it right off. We enjoyed visiting her family and meeting her daughter and husband at their home about a year ago. She had a great attitude during this time and throughout. We miss her! You and Your family are in our prayers!
