I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Nicholson in 1985 when I joined the UAMS AHEC Pine Bluff. As you know Dr. Nicholson traveled to Pine Bluff regulary to share his knowledge of Pulmonary Medicine with our Family Medicine residents. His contribution to our program was invaluable. There are few men I have admired more than Dr. Nicholson. He was an enthusiastic mentor to the students and residents at AHEC-Pine Bluff. He willingly shared his vast knowledge in a kind and compassionate way. Dr. Nicholson always added a historical perspective to the many cases we presented to him in "Chest Conference". He often knew the scientists personally that developed the medical discoveries that we take for granted today and was occasionally involved directly in their developement. Our Friday noon conferences have not been the same since he retired. He will be missed.
