Mark was like a father to me. I'd known him since I was about 9 years old. He helped teach me to swim, played games with me, and took care of me. I had always called him "Buddy". He will always be Loved and missed. And will always be my buddy. I am praying for his family and friends, too. I love you buddy!

Mrs. Sherrill and Steve, I am so sorry for your loss. I lived across the street from you on Birchwood Circle (#2). I fondly remember my childhood days there and the times Mark, Nancy and the rest of the guys would spend together during those special years growing up there. Mark will always have a special place in my heart, he was such a sweet, caring person and I know he will be missed dearly.

Mark was one of the sweetest, kindest people I have met in my lifetime. When I spoke with Kimberly this morning and expressed my sorrow that I would not be able to attend the visitation or funeral, she talked about how many friends that Mark has who will be there to support the family. This is a great testament to Mark. He was a very genuine, caring person. I would usually only see him during family Christmas gatherings and did not know him well, but I know how much he loved his family. You could see it shining on his face. RIP Mark, you will be missed terribly and always in the hearts of your family and many friends.

I met mark when he was going to school in Fayetteville through a mutual friend Tim Nolen. Mark was always fun to be around and had such a good humor. I remember his laughter and the twinkle in his eyes. I lost contact with him for a number of years until we connected on Facebook. I know he will be missed terribly and it is never easy to give up a loved one no matter the condition or circumstance. My prayers to the family during this most difficult time. RIP Mark.

Mrs. Sherrel, I met your son years ago through mutual friends. He was always a kind and sweet hearted person. He was very comical also. He was always a good friend even though we lost touch over the years. He will truly be missed.

Mrs. Sherrell, Steve, and the rest of the family, I am so sorry to hear of Mark's passing and you all will be in my prayers. I swill always remember Mark as one of the sweetest friends I ever had in my life. Growing up in Birchwood, I spent many hours with him and our group of friends, a lot of the time hanging out on "Mark's Street" and running around the neighborhood. Even though we lost touch with each other in our later years, I reconnected with him on Facebook, and talked with him a few times since. My life is richer for having known him. Rest in Peace Mark.

I had the privilege of meeting Mark a few years ago while he still lived in Nashville. He was a smart, funny and sweet man. I never heard him have an unkind word to say about anyone. I sure will miss him.

I knew Mark when we were neighbors on Birchwood Circle in Little Rock many years ago. I recently reconnected with him through my sister last year. It was so good to see him again. Then, this past June, I got the news that he was ill. I got to see him 2 times before he died, the latest being last Thursday, just 2 days before he moved back to Little Rock. He had the best smile and laugh and always had that twinkle in his eye, even towards the end. To Jeanie and Steve, I am so very sorry for this loss of such a fine son and brother. I want you to know that I will never, ever, forget Mark. He will be with us through the wonderful and loving memories we will always cherish and hold dear. See you soon.
