Biography: Mary Janet Schroeder 96, of Little Rock, passed away June 20, 2012. She was born February 6, 1916 in Cleveland Ohio to Alex Sudyk and Mary Dran Sudyk. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Clifford Schroeder, sisters Julia Guzik and Helen Cavalier. She is survived by her daughter Sherrill Damerow (Jerry), brothers John Sudyk and Nick Sudyk and sisters Dorothy Lukasik and Joan Heady. Mary and Cliff were hard working people who built their own home in Brecksville, Ohio before retiring to Mesa, Arizona. After Cliff passed away in 1992, Mary moved to Little Rock to be close to family where she spent many happy years. The family would like to thank the staff of Briarwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center where Mary spent her last years and received outstanding care and Arkansas Hospice for their loving care of Mary and her family. A visitation will be Saturday, June 23, 2012 from 1230 to 230 pm at Ruebel Funeral Home in Little Rock. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Arkansas Hospice or the Humane Society of Pulaski County in recognition of Mary?s love for animals, particularly Shadow who brought her much joy in her later years. Arrangements are under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home, www.ruebelfuneralhome.com

Hi,
My name is Marisa. From August 2010-August 2011, I volunteered at Briarwood Nursing Home. My school assigned us to places of service for our theology class during our junior year, and I enjoyed Briarwood so much I continued helping up there on my own all the time. After hearing of her passing, I wanted to find her obituary and write to her family. I just wanted to say that she was a wonderful person and I enjoyed visiting with her and playing all the games we had planned for the residents. She had such a pretty smile. I always remembered that about her. I am so sorry for your loss. She has been on my mind.
Take care,
Marisa

An Ode to Aunt Mary

How often thoughts of you cross my mind. Your smile, your laugh, your gentleness, so thoughtful and so kind.

How sad it is for me to think we now must part. Pleasant thoughts of you will remain always in my heart.

Until that day on yonder's edge when we will meet again, I will be forever grateful for your kindness, especially way back when.

Love you forever,

Susie

Hi Sherri,
When we were little and lived in Cleveland, Ohio, I have pictures, I remember playing at your house. My dad was Norman Schroeder, brother to Cliff. I remember Aunt Mary as a smiling, gracious person who was generous with her time. We moved to the country and lost track of your side of the family. My mom, Rose Schroeder, always loved and appreciated talking to Mary. I read that she lived to be 96 years old. I'm glad to hear she had a long and happy life. I'm sure God was smiling down on her in her everyday life. She surely will be in a wonderful place with the Lord. I'm sorry for your lost but she lived a loving life and will be remembered by all.

Uncle Jerry and Aunt Sherri,
Our Hearts and Prayers from Deep in the Heart of Texas cry out to both of you in the passing of Mary. Mary's amazing and beautiful character and especially her beautiful smile will continue to shine in our memories. You both (and Shadow) gave Mary the best care in her final years. We were so blessed to get to visit with her last summer on our trip to Little Rock. She honored us with that same beautiful smile, her humor and whit. Now I know where Aunt Sherri gets her spunk. Peace be with you and we will see you very soon.
We Love you Both Very Much!
