So, you've left the building, me old room mate. Very saddened; just heard the news from Marianne. We had many great laughs, many great times and many great vodka cocktails - not to mention the great music we'd listen to. both on AFN and our own stuff. We shall share a glass on the other side without a doubt. God Bless, me ol' mukka.

How very sad that Kem has passed! My condolences to family and friends, late but still heartfelt. I used to know him from the Gen Walker Hotel in Berchtesgaden too where I worked in the kitchen in my school holidays in the late 70s. I have never forgotten that time and he was right at the centre of it, bright, cheerful and loved. I learnt that there is a big wide world out there, the importance of rock 'n' roll and that limitations are often in our heads. What a guy! You'll live on in our hearts.

Dear Ray,
My sincere condolences to you, Kem's mother and family. I met you many years ago on a visit to New Orleans, where you and Kem were living at the time. I am sure you won't remember me as it was back in the mid/late 80's but I knew Kem for several years from our time together at the General Walker Hotel. He was one of those rare people that "to know him was to love him".....and he was certainly loved by all of us there!! Kem and I lost contact a few years after my trip to New Orleans but I have never forgotten him and only wish I had been able to exchange some of my many joyful memories I have had with him before he passed....but then there are so many that we'd have needed a few weeks for that!! It has been terrible to hear of his early departure from this life but he certainly knew how to live life to the full while he danced down here with us. He was, and still is, a beautiful soul that will never be forgotten. With deepest sympathy to all of Kems family.

So shocked to hear the sad news. Kem was a dear friend also from the General walker Hotel, we worked together for years and became good friends, we also kept contact after he returned to the states, and wondered this year where my penguin birthday card was.
my deepest sympathy to family

I am very sad to hear of Kem's passing. I worked with Kem at the General Walker Hotel in Berchtesgaden in 1990-1991. He was one of the first people I met there and he made me feel very welcomed. I remember him as having a great sense of humor, excellent taste in music, and always a kind word. My thoughts are with his family.

I roomed next to Kem at the General Walker in 1980 in the basement rooms. He had boundless energy would work all day and play his music all night - he was always fun, always had a smile on his face no matter what. Never heard him say a cross word. Take care Kem and may the angels of heaven sing to you forever! God bless to the family.

I am so deeply saddened and shocked to learn of Kem's passing. I knew Kem from The Hotel General Walker in Berchtesgaden, Germany. Kem was a close friend whom I love and miss so much. There were many occasions he would visit me when I moved to Virginia on his return trip from D.C., where he was spending time with his mother, Nedra. Kem never forgot my birthday or Christmas and would mail me letters and jokes. My sincere condolences to Ray and to Nedra, you are in my thoughts.

Kem was such a wonderful person and will be missed by so many. I have met and worked with him at the Hotel General Walker in Berchtesgaden. He has brightended our life there by being not only a coworker but a true friend. If i had to characterize Kem: he was bright, a warm smile and elegance.
It's hard to imagine how much you must miss him. My thoughts are with you. Peter (aka Yogi)

I am so sad and sorry to hear about Kem's passing. We had a lot of fun during our 30th high school reunion and I had the chance to visit with Kem downtown occasionally. I'll always remember Kem and Jimmy Snapp adding the "pep" to Parkview's pep rallies and ball games. May God be with you both.

Ray, my heart and prayers are with you. You may not remember me, but I was a medical student in New Orleans around 1980 when you had a gift shop down there. I bought several beautiful things from you that I cherish to this day! I met Kemball a couple of times at your store. Funny thing, Ray--you came into my mind suddenly, vividly, in the middle of the night about three weeks ago. I woke up with a start and wondered if something was wrong. When I saw Kem's obituary, I knew it was not a coincidence. I'll be in touch later.

My prayers are with Kem's parents during this very difficult time. I was with a Marriott resident for many years and my 7 year son and had the pleasure of seeing Kem on a regular basis. He always had a smile and a sweet word for us both. Long after I stopped going to Little Rock Kem would send messages threw my friend that still lived there. It always brightened my day and put a smile on my face. Kem was a wonderful man and I was so sad to hear of his passing.
With Love,
