Biography: George Edward Baker, of Little Rock, passed away on Tuesday May 8, 2012. He was born on January 26, 1950 in Cleveland, TN. George was preceded in death by his parents James Haskell Baker and Ruth Bryan Baker. He is survived by his two sons; Bryan Tyler Baker (Rachel, their son Oliver Andrew Baker) of Huntsville, AL and Andrew Johnston Baker of Washington DC. He is also survived by his two siblings; Barbara Ruth Hopson of Blountville, TN and Levon H Baker of Cleveland, TN. He will also be remembered by Kathryne Johnston Baker of Little Rock, AR. George graduated from Cleveland High School where he excelled in basketball and baseball. He attended Cleveland State Community College before joining the Army National Guard. In the spring of 1973 he graduated with highest honors from Officer Candidate School. After 25 years of service he retired as a Major. George loved playing golf, watching the History Channel, and playing trivia with friends. Services will be held in Cleveland, TN at a later date.
