Biography: M. Holly Nunn died Sunday, September 10, 2006. She is survived by her son Robert Nunn III of Baltimore, her daughter Donna Catrone of Little Rock, her son Thomas Nunn of Blodgett, Oregon, and nine grandchildren. Holly was born and raised in San Francisco. The advent of World War II took her to Washington, D.C., where she worked in the War Department and was personal secretary to Henry L. Stimson, the Secretary of War. She met and married her husband Robert Nunn, Jr., and raised her three children in the Washington area. Holly was an extraordinary person. A competitive swimmer in her youth, she traveled the world extensively and was always ready to try new experiences. But she was best known for her sense of humor, her optimism, and her compassion for her friends and family. Both those who knew her well and those who met her only briefly came away inspired by her enthusiasm for life.
