Biography: Frank Alan Smith, 89, formerly of Little Rock died March 28 in Memphis. He is survived by his beloved wife, Eura Jeanne Smith; his daughter, Dorothy Meeks (Greg); two grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth Russell (Paul) and Matthew Frank Ethridge Meeks, and two great-grandchildren, Paul Carter Russell, II and Elisabeth Russell. Mr. Smith was predeceased by his parents Charles Eugene and Dorothy Cottam Smith and by his daughter Carol. Mr. Smith attended Washington University in St Louis. A veteran of World War II, the Korean Conflict, and the Cuban Missile Crisis he served 23 years in the Reserves. After retiring as District Manager of Kemper Insurance Group, he served as Managing Trustee of Oakland Fraternal Cemetery until 2003. He studied for the ministry at St. Georges School of Theology and served as Rector at St. Alban?s Anglican Church. Smith was a member of Brady Lodge 753, a Past Grand Master of Masons in Arkansas, a 33rd Degree Member of the Scottish Rite, and a Past Potentate of Scimitar Shrine Temple. Visitation will be on Friday, April 13 from 3-5 at Ruebel Funeral Home. A service of burial will be held at Oakland Fraternal Cemetery on Saturday, April 14 at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to either the Arkansas Scottish Rite Foundation Auditorium Chair Fund or a charity of the donor?s choice. At the reunion last fall I remember discussing our parents. As stressful as their care is it's still impossible for me to imagine what you're going through now. I hope you and your family find peace in your memories and in your faith.
