I'm emailing on behalf of my mother, Jo Anne Wall Daves. She will miss Pat very much, her close cousin. She considered Pat a sister that she looked up to and always looked forward to talking with her on the phone. She will be missed.

I never really knew Pat, I wish I had. I did
visit with Hammie, as a young child, in the summers. My Dad was Hammie's Uncle, we lived in New Jersey and only saw family members when
we visited grandparents. My thoughts and prayers
are with you all.D

I met Pat in 1983 when I began working with the State within DHS. We were friends immediately - she was just like that - and came to know that her family and my husband's family (Don, Pat, Tony and Stacey Mahurin) had lived in Pleasant Hills as neighbors for years. When I was expecting my first child....John and Stacie were expecting at the same time....so we had lots of conversation material. As I remember, Stacie beat me by a week or so....my daughter, Rachel, was born March 13th. Pat was such a sweet and fun lady...even though we lost touch a few years after her retirement - I still often think of her. I am saddened by her death and feel for each member of the family...I do know how it feels to lose a Mother, Grandmother and friend. However, I do rejoice at her Homecoming and look forward to re-kindling the friendship again one day. She and my Mother are already visiting, I am sure!

Pat is my sister-in-law. She and my brother, Hammie were happily married for 61 years. When Hammie's and my father died in 1950, Pat and Hammie were in their mid-twenties and I was seven. They were my rock in those days and were the best brother and sister that I could ask for. They were always there to encourage me and take me to different places as my mother didn't have the time or the energy to "coach" a 7 to 9 year old boy. My mother and I moved from Little Rock to Oklahoma in 1952 but we always stayed in touch.

Later, I came to appreciate Pat even more when as a college student, I would come to Little Rock for the season opening game between Oklahoma State and Arkansas. I always stayed with them and the myriad discussions with Pat around the kitchen table will always be treasured by me.

Pat was a rock. She was without question a truly wonderful mom, grandmom, greatgrandmom and for me the best sister that anyone could ever have. I'll miss you Pat but I'll see you and Hammie again in the not too distant future. Godspeed and God bless the Holloways.
