Biography: Margaret Beckham Parrish, of Little Rock, died February 24, 2012 at St. Vincent?s Infirmary. She was born in Okolona, MS, November 20, 1930. Her parents Clarence P. Beckham and Maggie R. Beckham moved to Memphis during her childhood where she graduated from Memphis Technical High School. There she met her husband of 60 years, Douglas J. Parrish, Sr. who died in 2010. Shortly after, the young couple moved to Little Rock where they raised two sons, Douglas J. Parrish Jr., and P. Gary Parrish. Her survivors include her son, Gary and his wife Diana , three grandchildren, Matthew Parrish and wife Mimi, Patrick Parrish and his wife Kathy, and Megan Parrish all of Little Rock, great granddaughter, Margaret Alice Parrish. She is also survived by her siblings, Mary Perry and Pat Beckham of Memphis. She is also preceded in death by her son, Douglas J. Parrish, Jr., and her sister Betty Steele. Margaret was a member of Westover Hills Presbyterian Church. She was a supporter of Multiple Sclerosis Society of Arkansas and the Susan G. Komen Foundation. She was a regular at ?Early Coffee Drinking Bunch? mall walkers at Park Plaza. She enjoyed gardening, was an accomplished oil painter, needle pointer, a member of the Red Hats Association and loved her trips to the races in Hot Springs. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 from 5 ? 7:00 PM at Ruebel Funeral Home Funeral services will be held at Ruebel Funeral Home, February 29, 2012 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Debbie Freeman officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park. So sorry to hear of your mother's passing. She was such a neat lady and I will alway's have great memories of her and Doug. My prayers are with you and your family.
