Biography: Col. Jennings Orlando Larson, USAF (Ret.), age 86, of Little Rock died September 1, 2006. He was born in Carlyle, MT on July 2, 1920, one of seven children to the late, Jenz and Louise Larson. Colonel Larson was called to active duty in the United States Air Force on December 11, 1941 and served until his retirement in 1964. He was the recipient of many service commendations including the Distinguished Flying Cross with Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Medal with five Oak Leaf Clusters, and the Purple Heart. After retirement from active duty, he continued his aviation career with the Federal Aviation Administration in Washington and finally as a director with the FAA in Honolulu, HI. Col. Larson is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Mrs. Mary Jackson Larson; his daughter, Leslie Andersen and husband Bill of Williamsburg, VA; his grandchildren, Wade and Jenna Andersen; his sister, Edna Kautzman and several beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, David Larson A small memorial service of family and friends will be held in the chapel of Ruebel Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at 10:00 AM. Officiated by Rev. Jeff Hampton. Inurnment of Col. Larson’s ashes will be at Arlington National Cemetery Columbarium at a later date. www.ruebelfuneralhome.com
