The Goode Family: What a wonderful person Johnny was! I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to have known him. I was introduced to him through mutual friends several years ago. He always had that warm and engaging smile whenever I saw him at restaurants or around town. He was very supportive of charities such as Big Brothers/Big Sisters but he did so without any fanfare. He is greatly missed but he will always be loved!! God Bless!!! May he Rest in Peace in Heaven! Reg Rogers

Johnny was a "hero" to all that had the good fortune of being his friend. He was the kind of guy that you hoped your son would grow up to be or that your sister would marry. He was a living example how people should treat each other. I will forever miss our shared passion for baseball and the many rounds of golf that we played. His presence in my tavern for some 30 years was always a welcomed sight and a source of many great memories. He will forever be in my thoughts. Goodbye old friend.

I first met Johnny at CARTI when we were getting what he jokingly called "the daily special." He was such a great guy, always upbeat, and could talk about virtually anything. Of course, mention the Hawgs or the Cards and he went to another level. Still, he was never publicly down, was always kind, and displayed a quick, warm wit. I'm sorry for your loss, but I know he was a blessing to many. May the Lord give you peace during these days!

My brothers and I were saddened to hear of Johnny's passing. We go back to the "Diego Days", of knowing Johnny, and seeing him from time to time through the years. No doubt...he was such a sweet, kind person, and the smile on his face told the story of how genuinely wholesome he was. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. Know in your hearts...he was truly a blessing!

Johnny was truly one-of-a-kind. I've never been around anybody quite like him. Grace, courage, integrity. Besides all the other adjectives people have used to describe him, he had such a delightful sense of humor that I still smile thinking of some of the things he said. He made you feel totally comfortable just talking to him. No pretension, didn't try to impress you with anything, but you always walked away thinking what a neat, kind and balanced human being. The world was a better place when I was around him. Grif Stockley

Johnny was such a wonderful, kind person who has been a "part of our family" since he and Steve became friends many years ago. As his family, you are so blessed to have thousands of happy memories to remember Johnny and which will give you support in this journey down the Path of Life. Johnny was blessed with good friends and a loving family, one that he dearly loved. I last saw Johnny in Oct. when we all gathered at Steve and Katharine's house for the weekend and the Arkansas vs. Vanderbuilt game! What a great weekend with so much happiness. I remember asking Johnny if he would spend Halloween with Steve's family, and he said, "No, I have to get home and get candy for the kiddos in my neighborhood." He laughed and headed for Little Rock. What a wonderful memory that is!
May God shower blessings and support on your family. My prayers will be with you as you go through the days ahead. I appreciate so much having known Johnny Goode.

Johnny was truly one of the nicest people I've ever met. Always upbeat and positive even after losing his house in a tornado, being diagnosed with cancer, and losing his father and brother, he still managed to keep a positive attitude. Johnny got to live his dreams of going to Spring Training with the Cardinals and becoming friends with the players and coaching staff and he also got to play golf at Augusta. Johnny and I spent many a day's talking baseball and analyzing our fantasy baseball teams, memories I'll never forget. My thoughts and prayers go out to Johnny's family. We've lost one of the great ones.

I first met Johnny when we moved to Little Rock in 1976. He was one of the first guys to invite me into his group of friends. He was a close friend thru high school and college. Johnny and I would catch up when my job took me back to Little Rock. I was always met with a great smile, we had many great laughs together. The few times I saw him after he was sick, there was never complaints about his situation. We are lucky to have know Johnny, his last name says it all.

Johnny Goode was a true Prince. I had the honor of working with Johnny for many years at Arkansas Businness. He ALWAYS made me smile! I share his love of my hometown Cardinals, and delighted in the many stories he brought back from a spring training trip. So happy he was able to share their victory in the 2011 World Series. Blessed and Grateful that he touched my life!

Please accept my condolences on the loss of a son, brother, uncle, and friend to many, Johnny Goode. I was introduced to Johnny through his best friend, my brother, Steve. Although I have never had a chance to meet each of you, the character of Johnny answers them all. He was so kind to come see us when my Dad was in the hospital at Baptist. Johnny will be deeply missed, but to know that he has eternal life with no more suffering, is a blessing. There will be many difficult days ahead, but with all the wonderful memories of Johnny and stories of golfing and the Cardinals, a ray of sunshine will ease your pain.

My thoughts and prayers will continue with you during this difficult time in your lives.
