Biography: Roger P. Ellingson, of Little Rock, AR died November 13, 2011 at the age of 79. He was born on June 29, 1932 in Spring Grove, MN to Oscar and Adeline (Lyndahl) Ellingson. He was the eldest of three sons. A proud descendant of Norwegian immigrants, he was baptized and confirmed in the Trinity Lutheran Church by Rev. Oscar Mikkelson. He was a graduate of Spring Grove High School and the University of Minnesota. He was on the university bowling team for three consecutive years and was captain of the team that won the Big Ten title in 1954 at Madison, WI. He was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity and held the position of Grand Master during his junior and senior years. After being discharged from the Army, he was employed by a subsidiary of the Brunswick Bowling Company in El Paso, TX, as a salesman and bowling instructor with responsibilities for the West Texas and Southern New Mexico areas. In 1960 he joined IBM Corporation Data Processing Division and served in various managerial positions in Texas, Louisiana, New York and Connecticut. He retired from IBM in 1988 and resided in Dallas, TX. He moved to Little Rock, AR in 1994. Roger enjoyed playing duplicate bridge, and was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, his younger brother, Daniel and his favorite aunt, Louise Helland. He is survived by his wife, Connie of Little Rock; two daughters, Mrs. Mark (Monica) Purcell of Dallas, TX and Mrs. Fred (Susan) Matamoros of Minden, LA; his brother, Richard Ellingson and wife Anne of Minneapolis, MN; and five grandchildren, Tyler, Katey and Garrett Purcell and Angela and Lars Matamoros; step-children, Chris Holitik of Fayetteville, Kay Maris and husband Guy IV of Little Rock, Robert Holitik of Little Rock, Melissa Plato and husband Richard of Little Rock, Drew Holitik and partner Eddy Wagoner of Chicago; step-grandchildren, Ashley and Whitney Maloney, Rainey Maris, Katherine Anne Holitik and Robert Holitik, Jr. and Wylie Holitik. He is also survived by his dogs, Beau and Bitty Boy and his cat, Sugar. A funeral service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Little Rock, AR on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. officiated by The Rev. Canon J.
