Biography: Rosalie Brashears Walker, 85, of Little Rock, AR, died Thursday evening, September 8, 2011. She was born March 15, 1926, in Brush Creek, AR. (Grant County) to the late Evola (Crow) and Maynard Earl Brashears. Preceding her in death were her sisters Sudie Lamb, Marjorie Jones, and infant brother Donald. Rosalie and her late husband, Hewie, were founders of Walker?s Cleaners where she was bookkeeper for over 30 years. During World War II, Rosalie?s sense of adventure led her to work for the war efforts in Oak Ridge, TN while Hewie served in the Air Force in North Africa, India, Burma and China. She was a devoted wife for over 50 years, a loving mother and grandmother, and a faithful member of Lifeline Baptist Church where she was treasurer of her Sunday School class. She was a strong Southern woman with a gentle faith and pithy sense of humor. Rosalie and Hewie?s combined sense of humor and desire to travel took them and their entire family on multiple motor home escapades throughout the United States and Canada. Both granddaughters inherited their desire to travel and live with the same sense of adventure as their grandparents. Survivors include her children, Reita Miller and Robert F. Walker, both of Little Rock; and two granddaughters, Amy Reinhold and husband, Judge, of Santa Fe and Little Rock; and Maria Miller of Nashville, TN. Special thanks goes to Lifeline Baptist Church Outreach Ministry, Dr. Sue Ulmer, Pulmonary Associates, Joan Robbins and the staff at Briarwood Rehabilitation and Nursing Home, St. Vincent Hospital nurses and nurse assistants, St. Vincent Arkansas Hospice, and personal care givers Chuck, June, LaDonna, Tony, Sarah, Tresia and Mary for their loving care. A celebration of Rosalie?s life will be on Monday, September 12, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Lifeline Baptist Church at 7601 Baseline Road, Little Rock, AR., with Reverend Jeff Dial officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Grace Sunday School Class, the Music Ministry, or the Outreach Ministry all at Lifeline Baptist Church. Our mothers were friends for a long time, and I cherish our friendship. I'm so sorry for your loss. Though I didn't know Rosalie well, I have heard many stories of her from my mother, and there was much love in them. May God bless you and your family and heal your hearts. Peace, Donna
