My teacher in 1954 and 1955. She was a wonderful teacher and loved her students, even when we were "out of order".
We will miss her.

My dearest Ann, Sandy, Laurie, Hodie,& family, when mother called and told me Carlyn passed away I felt a part of me was now gone. I have not cried this much since Dad died. It took me back to the house on Midland and all the fun we had. Ann, you were kind enough to let me be a part of your life & family. The best times of my life! Mother and Carlyn kept in touch through the years so I got updates on your lives and that kept me close to you. If I had a choice of another mom it would have been my dearest Carlyn. I loved her spirit, her tenacity, her strength, her humor and most of all I just loved Carlyn and her wonderful family. Just know I am grieving with you at this time. God has called another angel home and Carlyn, when you get the heaven, tell dad I miss him so. Please let me know if there is anything I can do. From the family of Kathryn Corley and daughter, Toni Seavers.

To the Langston Family~
You may not remember me but I enjoyed many wonderful visits with all of you when Marc brought Sam and me to your home during our college days. Your mom and dad always made us feel so welcome. I pray that God will give you strength in the days and months ahead.

Ann I had so many fun times with you and your Mother, Sandy, Hodie and Laurie. I remember her stopping the car at Ice Cream Cone Stands. One time she pulled the car over at Fair Park for us just to get cotton candy. I think we drove all the way to Hot Springs one night just to eat at Coy's. She would cook breakfast for me and Vernon on ( a few) Sunday mornings when we would run from Sunday school after Mom and Dad dropped us off. We would run from the Church to your house. That's about the time she would be cooking cheese grits, scrambled eggs, the works. She was just such a good cook! Then in later teen-aged years she was the stern Matriarch. When Carlyn caught 6 of us sneeked out. She knew exactly where to call and told us if we were not back she was going to call each of our parents. We didn't have a car so Bobby Riggins gave us a ride back to your house 1 at a time on his motorcycle. Nervous, I think I rang the doorbell. She said, "Come in"! Carlyn patiently waited on the couch, where we each had a stern lecture (solo) before being admitted back into the den where we were supposed to sleep. She sure put up with us well, what a charmer. I really think she loved and cherished the younger generation. I am a better person for having met your Mom, you and the rest of your family Ann.

May God give you peace at this time. Such a wonderful lady will be truly missed by many people. It is very hard to loose your mother! There will be times you really want to talk to her and get her opionion on things. My advice is to keep talking to her and you will be amazed at what happens. I am so sorry Ann, Sandy, Laurie, and Hodie. Cindi
