Biography: Ronald Edward Tabor, of Little Rock, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2011 at his home. He was born December 27, 1939 to the late Doris and Edward M. Tabor. He is survived by his wife Sharon Drake Tabor of Little Rock; 2 daughters, Laura Stokes and husband, Mark, Susan Brightop and husband, Austin; one son, Scott Tabor and wife, Denise; 4 grandchildren, Madeline and Scott Tabor, Jr., Andrew Brightop, Emily Stokes; 2 sisters, Carol Garrison and husband, Don, Judy Moss and husband, Joe; 3 nephews and his faithful companion Springer Spaniel Leland Drake. Ron grew up in Little Rock graduating from Little Rock Central High School in 1957. He graduated from University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with a Batchelor of Science Degree in Business and Finance. He was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Ron spent his career in the real estate business, working for Dr. Ted and Virginia Bailey from 1966-1980 serving as manager of Real Estate operations for Bailey Corporation. In 1981 he went to work for Flake and Company, forming Flake, Tabor, Tucker, Wells and Kelley, retiring in 1998. After a couple of years of retirement he went to work for Inwin Partners in the commercial real estate division. In his 45 years as an Arkansas real estate developer, Tabor had a hand in planning and development of much of Little Rock?s residential, educational, and corporate landscape. He has been a part of the teams that created Foxcroft, Andover Square, St. Charles, Metropolitan Plaza, Dillard?s Corporate Headquarters, Morgan Keegan and Acxiom Plaza Office Buildings, Winrock International Headquarter Building, Midtown-Little Rock, the Episcopal Collegiate School, and the Arkansas Realtors Association Corporate Offices. He took great pride in the development and construction of St. Andrews Anglican Church on Kanis Road. Ron was involved in numerous civic and community organizations. He was a member of Rotary International Club 99 for over 40 years and a Paul Harris Fellow. He served on the boards of Prostate Cancer Foundation, Episcopal Collegiate School, Little Rock Planning Commission, Vestry of Christ Episcopal Church and Trinity Episcopal Cathedral. Ron cherished his Tuesday Morning Bible Group of which he was a member for over 40 years. Ron enjoyed his quiet time each morning reading ?My Utmost For His Highest? and ?Grace For the Moment?. Ron loved his golf group, his time at Peppered Wing Hunting Club, and the Arkansas Razorbacks. He and Sharon enjoyed their time at their condo at Eden Isle, where they entertained countless family and friends. His greatest joy in life was the time he spent and the memories he made with his family, especially his four grandchildren. There will be a memorial service Monday, July 25, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Andrews Anglican Church, officiated by Bishop Philip Jones. Reception to follow at the church.
