Biography: Anne Hawes Cheairs, of Little Rock, died July 14th, 2006. She was born November 12, 1918 in Tillar, Arkansas to the late David Troy and Minnie Mae Taylor Cheairs. She was a graduate of Little Rock High School before graduating from Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois. Her entire life was dedicated to Christian ministries. She was on the staff doing direct ministries with Young Life for many years, and taught at Rift Valley Academy, an international boarding school in Kijabe, Kenya that serves missionary children with American based curriculum. It is the largest missionary boarding school in the world, and Africa’s largest American Christian School. She was also a discussion leader with the Bible Study Fellowship, and a member the Bible Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was also a member of the Women’s board for Ozark Conference Center. Anne was an avid traveler and visited many countries throughout the world. Anne is pre-deceased by a sister Elizabeth Wenger. She is survived by a brother David B. Cheairs and wife Hermie of Little Rock, three nephews; John Cheairs and wife India, David Wenger and wife Peggy, Jon Wenger and wife Barb, four nieces; Paula C. Mays and husband Richard, Sissy C. Jones and husband Scott, Deborah C. Freeman and husband Lee, and Anne Olmstead and husband Michael. There will be a visitation Sunday afternoon from 3 to 5 pm at Ruebel Funeral Home, followed Monday by a funeral service at 10am at The Bible Church of Little Rock officiated by Reverend Todd Murray.
