Biography: Natalie Beach Kirby, of Little Rock passed away Thursday, July 7, 2011. She was born January 21, 1924 in Overland, Missouri to the late David Roe Beach and Nina Nicolson Beach. She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Hodgen Kirby, Jr.; a daughter, Allison McCarty; three sisters, Helen, Mary Carson, and Ruth; a brother, David and dear friend, James H. Hamlen. She is survived by her son, Henry Hodgen Kirby, III; her daughter, Dale Selakovich and husband, Richard all of Little Rock; grandchildren, Kirby Natalie DiBerardino and husband, Tim of Denver, Colorado, Caitlin and Patrick Selakovich of Little Rock and Ginger Porter of Dallas, Texas and son-in-law, Richard McCarty of Tupelo, Mississippi. She attended Washington University and Little Rock University and was an accomplished artist. Early in her life Natalie was an airline stewardess for Chicago Southern/Delta Airlines. She raised her children after Hodgen?s death while he was attending medical school. Natalie volunteered at the Arkansas Art Center, Florence Crittenden Home and a long time member of St. Marks Episcopal Church. Natalie was known for her beauty, gentle nature, love of animals, and her strong faith. Natalie also enjoyed daily walks in the Pulaski Heights area. A funeral service will be held at St. Marks Episcopal Church on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Curtis Jones and Rev. Danny Schieffler. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Ellen?s memory to the International Elephant Foundation at www.elephantconservation.org.
