Biography: Vivian Bertha Parr Funk, age 103, was called to her heavenly home on Monday, June 6th, at Woodland Hills. She was born June 5, 1908, in Little Rock, Arkansas, the fourth of five children of Emma Weigelt Parr and Roscoe Edwin Parr. She was a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church in Little Rock, where she was baptized August 23, 1908, and then reaffirmed her faith with her confirmation on March 25, 1923. She was the first president of the Parents Association of Lutheran Schools (PALS) at First Lutheran School. She was also active in the Lutheran Women?s Missionary League, Altar Guild, Sunday School, Cradle Roll and Dorcas Sewing Guild at First Lutheran Church. She was also a charter member of the Friendship Sewing Club. On August 18, 1928, Vivian married John Carl Funk of Little Rock. John received his Crown of Life on October 7, 1996. Vivian is also predeceased by her parents, three sisters, Inez Parr Westerfield, Gladys Parr Turner and Mildred Irene Parr, a brother, George Edwin Parr, and a grandson, John David Funk. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Lorraine and Ted Hannah, and a son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Pat Funk; six granddaughters, Christi Funk Shobe, Susan Hannah Welch (Joe), Sharon Hannah, Diane Hannah Barton (John), Caroline Hannah (Mark Masyga), and Mary Hannah (Charlie Toohey); six great-grandchildren, Alicia Funk, Stephanie Funk McCratic (Steve), Melanie Shobe, David Shobe, Nicholas Toohey, Alexander Toohey, and Jessica Funk; and two great-great-granddaughters, Ashley Lowry and Charlotte Grace ?Charlie? McCratic. She is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews and a host of wonderful friends. A memorial service will be held at First Lutheran Church, 8th and Rock, in Little Rock on Thursday, June 9, 2011, at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Ron Bacic and Rev. James C Walter officiating. A visitation and luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall. A graveside service will precede the memorial service at 10:00 AM at Roselawn Cemetery.
