Jayne & Family: Amy and I so much enjoyed living across the street from your Mom. She was quick with a waive and kind hello. In my single days, I was fortunate enough to be the recipient of one of her wonderful (surprise) desserts or casseroles. I'm sorry we were unable to be with you today at the memorial. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. With fond memories of your Mom, Chad

Lena loved everyone that came into her home and always had a smile and something positive to say. She shared stories of her life and the love she had for her two daughters, granddaughter and great grandson. When you left her home you were always uplifted and glad that you had the opportunity of spending time with her. Even though she lived the last years of her life home-bound she was always very grateful for everyday and never failed to tell you how much she loved God, her children, her country and you. On so many occasions she shared stories of her two daughters and the love she had for each of them. She appreciated the care and attention that Jane was able to give to her in her latter years and would never fail to say at some point during the visit ?I do not know what I would do without my Jane?. I know she will be missed, but also know, she was so looking forward to being in her eternal home and receiving life anew.

Mrs. Lena was a beautiful Christian woman full of wisdom. I learned so much from sitting at her feet and will miss our visits and her stories of younger days. She was a dear friend that I will never forget.
