Biography: Joseph (Joe) Thomas Sorenson, of 3415 W. Markham in Little Rock, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 and leaves a loving mother, Colleen Gavahan; three sisters, Anne Martin and her husband Greg, Amy Davenport and Jody Marra; three brothers, Paul Sorenson, Michael Sorenson and his wife Ann, and Patrick Sorenson and his wife Carolyn. Joe also leaves his nephews: Michael, Ryan, Matthew, Benjamin, Samuel and Andrew, and his nieces: Olivia and Emily. His father Dr. John R. J. Sorenson preceded him in death, September, 2007. Joe was the proprietor of Kaos Bikes and Skateboards located in North Little Rock, Arkansas. His association with this business allowed him to be a positive and steadfast support for many young people. Joe attended Central High School and worked for years in the bicycle industry. His craftsmanship and customer service was why clients repeatedly worked with him and it was his humor for which he was best known by his friends and family. He rests in peace knowing that life for those he leaves behind is better because of his presence. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 21, 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church in Little Rock. In lieu of flowers donations to Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Arkansas, are encouraged. Arrangements by Ruebel Funeral Home, www.ruebelfuneralhome.com.

"Dear Aunt Colleen, my Cousins Anne, Amy, Jody, Mike, Pat and Paul,
My deepest sympathy.
I was told about Joe?s passing this morning. Our lives were truly blessed with Joe. While we lived most of our lives in different states the times we were together were exciting. Joe?s life on this earth was short. His life with Jesus is eternal. Keep the memories as I will. My prayers have been and will continue. Love David

At Pat's wedding in LA I saw Joe for the first time in years. He was quick and funny and grown up from the little fellow I knew from the other Hollywood--Hollywood Ave in Cincy. Pat told me about his recent struggles and the family pulling together to assist him. I'm saddened to learn of his death and my thoughts are with all of you. I'd love to see a picture of the Packer's bike.

I have known and worked with Patrick for many years. He always has spoken very highly of his brother and best friend. What a gift to be able to say your brother is also a friend. Joe was obviously a very special man. My condolences to the entire Sorenson family. My prayers are with you all.

My heart goes out to Joe's family, and to all of us whose lives were made better by knowing Joe. I can't say that I've ever known anybody with a kinder or sweeter soul. Joe had the natural ability to make you laugh so hard you'd cry, and to let you know you were loved. We'll miss you Joey.

You will be sadly missed cuz! Thanks Joe, so much for all the fond memories! Joe, your were the joker of the family and always had a smile or laugh for those who needed one. I can remember your last visit to Wisconsin, you came up to me with such excitement and just had to show me something. We walked over to your pimped out ride and you popped the trunk to reveal a Packers bike that you custom made. The love and pride that you put into your work showed. What started out as a hobby turned into a full time business. Not only for yourself, but for the youth of Little Rock. Although I feel very sad, I know that you are some place better and with your dad. Your suffering is over and a new chapter begins. There are so many memories that I will hold close to my heart. May you rest in peace Joe! Love ya bro!

Our community of Lakewood in NLR will be forever grateful for Joe. He was such an inspiration to our youth. Always encouraging the kids to be the best they could be. Everytime I walked into Kaos there were a bunch of kids just hanging out with Joe because he was "cool". But more than that, he listened to the kids, and was interested in their lives. He will be truly missed.
