He was born October 9, 1922, in Red Star, AR to the late William Warren and Edna Mae McFarland Whitmire. He was a World War II Navy veteran and was retired from Hazard Construction in San Diego as an operating engineer. He is survived by his wife, Helen Whitmire; adopted son, Steve "Willie" Whitmire of San Diego; and sister, Marie Brown of Morrow, Ohio. Cremation arrangements are by Ruebel Funeral Home.
