  • I was sorry to read of Polly's death and extend my sincere sympathy to her family and friends. My brother, Eugene King, and I often talk about Polly when we remember the good old days when we were in school together in Huntsville. Her name is always mentioned at the reunion of H.S.V.S. Class of 1944-48, too. I know she will be missed but she'll always live in the hearts of those who loved her.

  • Debra, Diane, and Demaris (and family), I am so sorry for your loss. I will never forget Ms. Polly. I will never forget her for she had a certain zest for life that made a forever lasting impression on me. Debra, Diane, and Demaris, my name is Ashley Monahan and I am a CNA at St. Vincent Hospital on 3NW and I took care of your mother most days during the day while she was a patient there. I have met all three of you and will never forget what love you each had for your mother. She also talked at length about each of you and how she loved you all and you and your families, her neighbor, and her flowers are what made her the happiest. Every day she anticipated each one of your visits, and she also realized if you were even a minute later than promised! She was such a character! Some days she liked me more than others, she always thought I should be spending all of my time with her! I always had to promise I would be "right back", and if I wasn't she would press the call button and let the person on the other end know that I wasn't "right back". She just made my day those days when she was one of my patients! I am glad I was privileged enough to meet her and take care of her. She was such a neat woman, I'm sure you all already know that, I just wanted to write and let you girls and her family know that I was touched by Ms. Polly and I will never forget her. I know on Tuesday it will be a great celebration of her life. I'm sure she has touched many people and also made a lasting impression on many. You girls and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. I know she will be missed!!
