Obituary Notice

Victoria Cross Tarpley, 90, died in Little Rock on October 8, 2004. She was born on July 14, 1914, at Pendleton Plantation in Desha County, Arkansas, the second child of Victoria Goree Cross and Clay Rice Cross. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Mack Tarpley; two sisters, Mollie Cross Starmer Haley of Pine Bluff and Camille Cross Dudney Sharpe of Texarkana, Arkansas; and a brother, Clay Rice Cross of Dumas, Arkansas.

She is survived by her daughter, Victoria Tarpley Logan of Vail, Colorado, and a sister, Mrs. Griffin Smith, Sr., of Little Rock.

Funeral arrangements are by Ruebel Funeral Home with a private burial in Warren, Arkansas, at a later date.
