Obituary Notice

Josephine Morse died on Tuesday, January 27, 2004, in Charleston, SC. Born on September 15, 1919 in Little Rock, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Jamie Niven Tucker and John Woodfin Tucker. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Byron Rhodes Morse whom she met while attending the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.

Miss Jo was a past president of the Junior League of Little Rock and the Little Rock Garden Club. She also served as a Regional Director and Secretary of the Association of Junior Leagues International. She was a past member of the boards of the Arkansas Arts Center, founding member of the Sustainers Club of the Jr. League, and the Boys Club. She was also a member of the Colonial Dames and Chi Omega Sorority.

She is survived by her son, John Tucker Morse and his wife Catherine, and her daughter, Melinda Morse Laurens and her husband John, and four grandchildren, Richard Morse, Cate Morse, Henry Laurens, and Tucker Laurens, all of Charleston, SC.

The family will be receiving friends at the home of the Honorable and Mrs. James M. Moody, Wednesday, January 28, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 29, at 9:30 am, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church Garden, Little Rock.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions maybe made to the Alzheimer's Disease Center, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, 4301 W. Markham, Slot 811, Little Rock, AR 72205-7199 or to the charity of one's choice.
