Obituary Notice

LTC (Ret.) Jimmy R. Sayles, 63, of North Little Rock and Eureka Springs, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, September 21, 2003. Jimmy served 34 years in the Arkansas Army National Guard, retiring in 1993. He was assigned to STARC (-) AR ARNG at Camp Robinson. He was the S3 of 212 Signal Battalion Headquarters and was the Executive Officer for the 212 Signal Battalion. He also served as the Company Commander for D Company and was OSHA certified. At the time of his retirement, he was the Director and Civil Engineer for the Installation Support Unit at Camp Robinson. For the past seven years, Jimmy has served in the capacity of Director of Environmental Services for the Eureka Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Carol Diane Sayles; brothers Don Sayles of Hensley; Phillip Sayles of Jacksonville; daughters Dana Wiggins of Booneville; Tamara Rees of Jonesboro; Leslie Kerr of North Little Rock; son Raymond Scott Brown of Hot Springs. Jimmy was the proud grandfather of 6 ½ grandchildren, Grant and Chase Wiggins; Reagan, Kendal, and baby Zachary Mark Rees to be born in January; Lanie and Joshua Kerr. Jimmy will be greatly missed by a host of very close friends and family.

There will be a visitation from 6:00-8:00 pm Tuesday at Ruebel Funeral Home. Services will be Wednesday at 10:00 am, September 24, 2003 at Ruebel Funeral Home in Little Rock with Rev. Larry B. Henderson officiating. Interment will be at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Arrangements are under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home.

  • To Carol and the Family, Sorry to here about Jimmy. He was a pleasant person to be around. He was a big help to me in the National Guard-he hired me for my first job with the 212th. I was looking forward to seeing you at the 212th 50th Anniversary next year.
