James Douglas "G.P." Robinson
Obituary NoticeJames Douglas "G.P." Robinson, age 67, of Little Rock, died Saturday, July 26, 2003. He was born in Greenwood, South Carolina, later graduating from high school at Norview High School in Norfolk, Virginia. He received his BS in Sociology from King College in Bristol, Tennessee. He also attended Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, Virginia. He became active in the insurance after school and was presently employed with the Hardin and Wilson Insurance Company. He was very active in his community serving over 30 years with the Optimist Club of Central Arkansas, becoming an honorary life member. He loved his family, coaching baseball at the Boy's Club, and golf. He was a member of Westover Hills Presbyterian Church and was a past Deacon and Elder with the church. He is survived by his wife, Claudette White Robinson of Little Rock, one daughter Beth Jaworski and husband Andy of Berlin, Germany, one son Bryan Robinson and wife Barbara of Little Rock, two brothers; Walter A. Robinson, Jr. of Norfolk, Virginia, William B. Robinson and wife Barbara of Virginia Beach, Virginia, four grandchildren; Amanda and Lindsay Jaworski and Taylor and Tipton Robinson. There will a visitation Monday from 6 to8 pm at the Ruebel Funeral Home followed Tuesday with a memorial service at 2 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials should be sent to Optimist Club of Greater Little Rock, PO Box 55754, Little Rock 72215, of Westover Hills Presbyterian Church.
