Doris Marie Tabor
Obituary NoticeDoris Marie Tabor, age 86, of Little Rock, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 02, 2001. Doris was born in Little Rock, January 1, 1915 as Doris Marie Adams. In 1935 she married Edward Tabor and together they had three children. Doris graduated from Little Rock High Central High School in 1932. After marrying in 1935 Doris spent most of her married life being involved with her children's activities. In 1967 she began working at Ann's Candle Shop as a bridal consultant and floral designer. She later became the bridal consultant at M.M. Cohn Department Store until her retirement. She loved her work and always added a loving touch to the weddings she was involved with. She and her husband were members of Oak Forrest United Methodist Church where Doris sang in the choir and worked with the youth. She was also a member of the Pinnochio Rose Garden Club and later the Briarwood Garden Club. Besides her parents, brothers and sister, she is preceded in death by her husband and one granddaughter Melanie Carol Moss. She is also survived by daughter Judy Moss and husband Joe of Benton, Arkansas, Ron Tabor and wife Sharon of Little Rock, Carol Garrison and husband Don of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, 6 grandchildren Marc Moss, Laura Tabor Stokes, Scott Tabor, Susan Tabor Brightop, Sean Garrison, and Brian Garrison, 4 great-grandchildren Madeline Tabor, Scott Tabor, Jr., Andrew Brightop, and Laura Lee Moss. Other survivors include three sister-in-laws, Ann Adams of Little Rock, Sylvia Haack of Lafayette, Louisiana, and Gayle Adams of Apopka, Florida. Honorary pallbearers will be The Tuesday Morning Prayer Group. There will be a visitation today, Thursday from 5 to 7 P.M. at Ruebel Funeral Home, followed Friday with a funeral service at 1 P.M. at Oak Forrest United Methodist Church officiated by Reverend Jim Foster. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Oak Forest United Methodist Church and The Arkansas Heart Association. The family will receive friends at 42 Tallyho Lane, Little Rock. Arrangements are under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home. |
