Nancy Ann Popperfuss
Obituary NoticeNancy Ann Popperfuss, 73, of Little Rock, died Saturday April 28, 2001. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of the late Henry John and Nancy Key Popperfuss, and the niece of the late Mabel Key and Frank John Wassell. She moved to Little Rock with her mother where she graduated from Little Rock High School attending Wellesley College in Wellesley, Massachusetts, and later graduating from Baylor University in Waco, Texas with a B.A. degree in English in 1949. She returned to Little Rock where she began teaching English at Little Rock Central High School and Hall High School. She also received her Masters degree in English from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. Nancy's excellence in teaching was recognized by her being selected to grade advanced placement and college entrance examines on a national level. She was a member of the Aesthetic Club, a sustaining member of the Junior League of Little Rock, a member of The Arkansas Arts Center, and a member of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral. Nancy is survived by first cousins John L. Brockenbrough and wife Hanna of Houston, Texas, Barbara Wickell and husband Dan of Chicago, and Betsy Goldsmith of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. There will be a funeral service Tuesday, May 1st, at 1 P.M. at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral officiated by The Very Reverend Henry Hudson. Burial will follow services at Mount Holly Cemetery. Memorials in lieu of flowers should be made to Trinity Episcopal Cathedral. Arrangements are under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home. |
