Obituary Notice

Margaret Elizabeth Weir Jernigan, 86, of Little Rock, widow of Judge John Tucker Jernigan died Sunday, July 03, 2005. She was born in Donaldsonville, GA to Rev. Robert and Mamie Narcissus Harris Weir. On March 11, 1944, she and John were married and later moved to Little Rock, John's hometown, after he returned from WWII. Since 1946 Margaret was an active and devoted member of Second Presbyterian Church. Her deep faith and spirituality, inspired by her father, sustained her throughout her life. She was a member of the Junior League of Little Rock and graciously volunteered her time with the March of Dimes and Children's Hospital. Margaret was a creative person, whose appreciation for art and music was instilled in her at an early age by the artistic women in her family. She was deeply inspired by nature and prayed daily for world peace and future generations. 

She is survived by her four loving daughters: Marge Jernigan of Little Rock, Martha Ann Jernigan, Mary McCormick and her husband Daniel, Ellen Ginnaven and her husband Robert, all of Fayetteville, and five grandchildren, John Thomas, William McCormick, John Tucker McCormick, Katherine Ginnaven and Addison Ginnaven. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her brothers and sisters. 

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Second Presbyterian Church. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to Second Presbyterian Church or to a charity of your choice.
