Obituary Notice

Barbara Doris Williams, age 94, of Little Rock, died Monday, May 31, 2004. She was born in Camden, Arkansas where she married Reverend Leroy Williams, who died in 1966. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Dorris Lawrence. She and her husband, who was a Methodist minister, traveled Arkansas pasturing various churches. Barbara was a very good cook, loved sewing quilts for her family and cherished her time with her grandchildren. Barbara was a member of Pilgrims Rest Church in Monticello during the 15 years she lived there. She later returned to Little Rock to live with her daughter. Before moving to Monticello, she was a member of Bethel AME Church, NLR.

She is survived by four daughters; Rose Lee Boykins of Detroit, Michigan, Joyce Ann Slater of Little Rock, Leroy Williams, Jr. of Little Rock, Shirley Williams of Little Rock, three sisters; Bessie Youngblood of Dallas, Texas, Evelyn Carter of Phelan, California, Claudia Mae Cleveland of Camden, Arkansas, 9 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. 

There will be a funeral service Saturday, June 5th at 11am at the Ruebel Funeral Home chapel officiated by Reverend Lawrence Hobbs. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Cemetery.
