Obituary Notice

Roy C. Turner, age 80, of Little Rock died Monday, October 25, 2004. He was born on September 3, 1924, to Roy C. and Pearl (White) Turner in Lonoke, AR. Mr. Turner was an investment banker and securities trader for over 40 years, having retired from Stephens Inc. in 1987 where he was Vice President and Head of Equity Trading.

Mr. Turner was a WWII veteran of the US Army serving in Europe, where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Upon his return to Arkansas at the war's end he graduated from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. An avid world traveler and lover of good food and fine wines, Roy also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his late father-in-law, Thomas O. Mabry of Okolona, MS, and his son and grandsons.

Preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Marjorie Janet Kelley of St. Louis, Mr. Turner is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Betty Mabry Turner of Little Rock, his son and daughter-in-law, Roy "Te" and Kathleen Turner of Austin, TX, a daughter-in-law, Brenda M. Turner of Little Rock, three grandsons, Alan Turner of Memphis, TN, Brendan Turner of Blacksburg, VA, and Chris Griffin of Austin, and his devoted housekeeper JoAnn Watson.

The family wishes to invite Roy's friends to attend a festive gathering in celebration of his life at his home in Little Rock on Wednesday, October 27th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pulaski County Humane Society, Arkansas Hospice, or the charity of ones choice. Cremation Arrangements are by Ruebel Funeral Home.
