Obituary Notice

Loyde Dale Shaver, 50, of Mabelvale, died Friday, April 23, 2004. He was born in Sikeston, MO to Harold and Betty Scott Shaver. He was a graduate of Sikeston High School. Dale also graduated from Cotton Boll Vocational Tech. Burdette, AR, with a certificate in air conditioning and refrigeration, Mississippi County Community College, Blytheville, AR with an Associate of Applied Science in Industrial Technology and an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing. From 1972-1981 he was an M.P. in the United States Air Force stateside and overseas. On December 3, 1981 he married Dolores Edwards. Dale was currently employed by Arkansas Children's Hospital as a surgical nurse. 

He is survived by his wife, Dolores, of Mabelvale, a daughter, Layla Sutton, her children, Breanna and Scotty, a son-in-law, Thomas O'Guin and his children, Seth and Tori, a niece, Jennifer Hartzog, all of Sikeston, MO, a brother, Johnny Shaver and his wife, Felicia of New Madrid, MO; best friends, Jon Wellnitz, Ronnie Byrd, and Doug Tuten. Dale is also survived by his mother, a brother, Raymond Shaver, and a half-sister, Linda Helm, all of Sikeston. He was preceded in death by his father. 

A visitation will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the Ruebel Funeral Home followed by funeral services at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Ruebel Funeral Home Chapel. A private burial will follow in Blytheville. 

Memorials may be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital.

  • I worked with Dale while he was at Children's Hospital, he was a kind and wonderful person. My prayers are with you the family at this time. I am sorry I will not be able to attend services today. I just read Sunday's paper this morning.
