Obituary Notice

Patsy Sue Ellis, age 84, of Little Rock, died August 11, 2002, at St. Vincent Infirmary. She was born Aril 24, 1918, in Fordyce, Arkansas to the late Lesley Wolbridge and Mattie Lee Ferres. Patsy was chief receptionist and secretary for her brother-in-law, Ike Murry while he was Attorney General. She was Governor Orval Faubus' chief aide and secretary during his 12-year tenure. Patsy was such a popular political asset that Governor Winthrop Rockefeller asked her to help him initiate his term in office.

She is survived by her husband Charles S. Ellis of Little Rock, sister-in-laws Muriel Samuels of Fordyce Janis Ellis of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, Mary Morton of Florida, nieces Stephanie Thomas of Georgia, Ginger Murry of Little Rock, Marguerite Dory and husband Russ of Cabot, nephews, Michael Ellis and wife Denise of Southlake, Texas, Charles Ellis of Clinton, Arkansas, Larry Morton of Little Rock, Tommy Morton of Florida, and David Morton, along with numerous great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her sister Catherine Murry and brother Howard Samuels.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m.. at The Ruebel Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Reverend Betsy Singleton with burial at Pinecrest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church.
