Obituary Notice

Sirvetus "Si" Womack, Jr. of Quitman, AR passed away Thursday, March 8, 2001. Si was born September 29, 1926 in Murfreesboro, AR. Si graduated from Murfreesboro High School. He and his family moved to Little Rock in 1942. He served in the U. S. Navy from October 1944 to April 1946, attended Little Rock Junior College and was employed with American Air Lines, Ralston Purina Co., and Coopers Communities at Cherokee Village. He left Cherokee Village for Fairfield Bay in it's infancy. Si started as a salesman and was elevated to Vice President of sales. He retired from Fairfield Bay as Director of Public Relations. Si was a Charter member of Fairfield Bay Rotary Club, former Vice President of the Russellville Jaycees and a member of the Lions Club. Si was a big Razorback fan, volunteering to work with the Razorback Foundation, and Booster Club for several years supporting the hogs enthusiastically , attending most of the bowl games.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Belle Womack, a sister and brother-in-law, Benny Sue and Paul Galsendo of Houston, TX. He was preceded in death by his only child Susan Gail Womack Tunnison. Si was a member of the Greenbrier Church of Christ and was a Sunday School teacher,. Visitation will be held from 3-5:00 p.m. Sunday, March 11, 2001 at the Ruebel Funeral Home, 6313 W. Markham in Little Rock followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Greenbrier Church of Christ with Mr. Bob Turner officiating. Burial will be in Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander Memorials may be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home.
