Obituary Notice

Lucy Mae Battle Weedon, of Little Rock, died Saturday, July 28, 2001. She was born on May 27, 1909 in Muldoon, TX to Mae Jones and Richard Brundridge Battle. She was the widow of John W. Weedon. She is survived by two sisters: Myrtle B. Stacey of Waco, TX and Edna B. Fleming of Little Rock and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Carleen B. Huitt, Lena B. Blackburn and Virginia B. Garvin and a brother, William B. Battle. Mrs. Weedon graduated in the first class of Little Rock Senior High in 1928. She was a life long member of Pulaski Heights Baptist Church where she was active as a Sunday School Teacher, Girls Auxilary leader and Church Secretary. She was retired from Union National Bank.

A service of celebration of her 92 years will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2001 at the Pulaski Heights Baptist Church, by Dr. Randy Hyde. A private burial will be held prior to service time. Memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice or Pulaski Heights Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home.
