Obituary Notice

Gerald "Buddy" Lee Waddell, age 87, of Little Rock, died Saturday, January 13, 2001. He was born in Osceola, Arkansas where he graduated from high school. Having served in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific during World War II he later became a retail merchant owning and operating Waddell Jewelry and Gift of Osceola which he maintained for over 30 years. While in Osceola he was very active at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, Rotary Club International, Kawanis Club, The United Way, and the Osceola Country Club. In 1998 he and his wife moved to Little Rock residing at Pleasant Hills Retirement Community. In Little Rock he was a member of Christ The King Catholic Church. Buddy was thought of as a kind man. His hobbies were helping others, and being with his grandchildren, and it was often said that he never met a stranger.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dorothy Rose Williams Waddell of Little Rock, one daughter Gay Anderson and her husband Bob of Little Rock, one sister Anna V. Hudson of West Memphis, three grandchildren Heather Brown, Robert and Chris Anderson, 4 great-grandchildren, Maggie, Kat, and Brennan Anderson and Robert Shaw. There will be Mass of Christian Burial at Christ The King Catholic Church at 11 A. M. Tuesday, followed by burial at Roselawn Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home.
