Obituary Notice

Ross Bingham Vandever, 85, born July 30, 1915 in Fredonia, Kansas, son of the late Charles DeWitt and Dora Bell Bingham Vandever, died Wednesday, June 6, 2001 at his home. Mr. Vandever graduated from high school in Kansas and attended Kansas State University where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, graduating in 1937. He worked for Orbit Valve Company in Little Rock, retiring in 1980 as a Vice President and Chief Engineer. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Navy where he was a pilot, flying in the South Pacific. Mr. Vandever was a member of Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Josephine E. Vandever of Little Rock, two sons, William R. Vandever of Ward, Arkansas, James S. Vandever of Little Rock, two daughters, Linda J. Maxwell of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Laura L. Bingham of Denton, Texas; a brother, Rollin Vandever; grandchildren, Carolyn Maxwell of Tulsa, Oklahoma, William Ross Vandever, II and Allison Vandever both of Ward, Ryan Bingham and Alissa Bingham both of Denton.

Services will be Friday, June 8, 2001 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Ruebel Funeral Home officiated by Reverend Vic Nixon. Inurnment will be Monday, at 11:00 AM in Fredonia Cemetery, Fredonia, Kansas by Timmons Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home.
